5 Things To Try This Month -- May

May 4, 2016

Another month & another list of things to try. If you're new to these lists, you can catch past ones hereEach month I gather a list of 5 things to do -- This list typically includes places/events for St. Louis locals to try, general DIYs, adventure ideas and maybe a new read.

1. Head to Outdoor Yoga - Ballpark Village
When : May 11th at 6:00 PM
St. Louis has a lot of FREE outdoor yoga classes to offer. If you're not local, I'd bet your city has some offerings as well. One of my favorite St. Louis free classes is the Saturday morning yoga class at the Tower Grove Market- each Saturday, 9:00 AM.

2. Mix up a{seasonal}margarita for Cinco De Mayo
Whether you're staying in or going out for Cinco, you should celebrate by mixing up your own margarita & adding a seasonal twist to it! I recently bought the Trader Joe's margarita mix along with some of their tequila. I infused it with some beet juice (also from Trader Joe's) and had a simple, and tasty, beet margarita on my hands! I'd also recommend trying a mago chile combo! What flavor will you mix up? Also, see my STL Cinco de Mayo top restaurant picks from 2015.

3. Try a cooking class - Companion West Campus
This Companion location opened a while back (my review) and now their teaching kitchen is open. There are ample offerings to suit any person/group. I have my eye on the Missouri Made event!

4. Spend a night at a food truck event
If you're local to STL, here are some great resources to find food truck events >>
2016 Parks Food Truck Fest- An event at various parks in St. Louis County
+ Food Truck Friday - An event every second Friday from May - October at Tower Grove Park
+STFTA - St. Louis Food Truck Association - Get current news and learn about trucks
>> For me, I'm thinking I'll attend Tilles Park on May 17th.

5. Plant a container garden
One of my favorite things about being a homeowner is having so much outdoor space of my own. One of my additions to my back patio has been a number of container gardens. This is an easy option for anyone as they easily fit on balconies, front stoops, etc. I have planted lettuce, lavender, jalapenos and banana peppers so far. What will you plant?!
