Weekend Vibes - A Belated Family Christmas

Jan 25, 2017

This week I'm in good spirits because I have plenty to look forward to this week -- dinner with high school friends at a new restaurant (rock & brews) & a short work week because I have a weekend getaway to Nashville!

So let's get into the details from the past weekend--

Friday -- low-key night
I only had to work a half-day, so I spent the afternoon doing some household stuff and then headed to visit the boy - we made dinner and watched Nashville.
Funny tidbit -- he runs on his treadmill in jeans...he doesn't get why that's funny or a big deal. I find it hilarious. Such a goober.

Saturday -- my belated family Christmas
My Saturday started out with sleeping in. It was a gorgeous day and the only thing I wanted to do before my family event was get outside for a walk.So, I rode along with Danny to one of their farms and while he worked cattle I went on a walk on the gravel roads around the farm. I was completely smitten with the views and weather.

Then we had my Family Christmas- Originally this was scheduled for the Saturday before Christmas, but with an ice storm that unexpectedly hit, we re-scheduled to the next available date at the hall we booked. It ended up being a perfect weekend for this! It was sunny/nice so all the kids could run around outside to play. We have a big group (60 or so) and we played some new games this year. One being a bowling contest, using a frozen turkey! It was hilarious.
{new beers I took to Christmas to try. Loved the two on the left the most}

Sunday -- plenty of running around & Starbucks
I had grand plans for lots of errands + productive stuff. Then I get to my first location (about a 30 min drive) and realize I forgot my purse. Doh! So, I was able to make a return and treated myself to Starbucks because I pay on the app. Then I drove back for my purse and since I was back to Danny's I sort of ditched my expectations I had set for the day and went along with a different plan and it all worked out perfectly. I rode along with Danny as he drove this dump truck Sunday and boy was he in Heaven. Boys and their toys. It's the little things.
The biggest thing was that I still ran my errand to buy curtain rods & Danny came over and hung them all!!! I have been waiting sooo long for this moment. I have lived in my home for 1.5 years and have only had blinds up. Now with his help I am able to make my home soooo much more cozy/lived-in with adding pops of print and color through my curtains.

Overall I had a stellar weekend. I got to enjoy nice weather, get things done around the house, and enjoy time spent with family and the boyfriend.

Here are some curtains I am trying out around my house --
