Friday Best -- First of August

Aug 4, 2017

Welcoming in another month of summer -- Hey August! Can't wait to soak up more long, sunny days. The image above was captured on an evening walk this week. Neighborhood walks in the evenings or mornings (or both!) are one of my summer favorites. Tonight me and the Cattleman are working on our summer bucket list by heading for a date night of go-karting & hitting the new Mission Taco in the Streets of St. Charles after. Saturday I plan to knock a few things off my neglected to-do list then we have a graduation party. Sunday we are hosting Emily's bridal shower at a cute wine bar (UnKorked) and then I'm headed to a church picnic.

This week has had so many bests, you guys! Since it's the first Friday of the month my bests include this month's plans,  a blog feature (!!), thrift finds, breweries, Poshmark sales & more.

Best August plans
celebrating my goddaughter's 4th birthday / a graduation party / a bridal shower for Emily / a church picnic /  a birthday dinner for the Cattleman's brothers / Erika's bachelorette party

Best feature
I was featured by the HEX blog in an article titled 10 St. Louis Lifestyle Bloggers You Should Know About. Me?! So neat! Check out the article to find so many great local bloggers. This is what they had to say about SITC ::
"If you’re looking for ways to embrace Missouri, Silex In the City is the blog to check out for the best patios, thrift stores, books, brunch, and more. Blogger Jessica’s bucket lists and favorites will leave you inspired to explore the many things that Missouri has to offer."

Best cash back
I have $93 dollars coming my way from Ebates! If you're not using this site for online purchases, you are missing out!

Best sales
I mailed out two Poshmark bundles this week! Fall sweaters are the hot item this week. I am logging my sales + item audit in this blog post.

Best hump-day adventure
I ordered a farmhouse coatrack from McNelly Farmhouse Love (see it here) a while back and it's been ready to pick up for a while. So, on Wednesday me and my pal, Christine, drove out to Alton, IL to snag that and then went to Old Bakery Beer for nachos + a beer flight. Also, how cute are these growlers we each took home with us?! This was our way of partaking in St. Louis Craft Beer Week.

Best farmhouse finds [from Target]

additional rambles --
- how fun is this Yes way, IPA beer glass?! Definitely purchased
- I got so many goodies this week when thrifting
- I don't really need bedding, but I am tempted by this
- this week I managed to lose my credit card & lock myself out of my house all in the same day..luckily both scenarios buffed out smoothly & quickly
- celebrated #NationalIPAday at work
