Golly, the last month of 2017 is upon us! I'm decking my halls & getting into the holiday spirit in these parts. December is a big month for most and I'm hoping to embrace all the little moments the month has to offer & make time to slow down during the holiday hustle. The cattleman's birthday is a big reason to celebrate this month too!
Now on the the F I V E - Each month I compile a list of five various things I recommend trying -- these include anything from DIYs, book recommendations, sips, recipes, and new restaurants/events for St. Louis locals. You can check out all my previous suggestions too!
So, let's get to it ---
1. Hop on a Carriage Ride
You can't get more festive than that, right?! I've actually have never done a carriage ride and think it would be a blast. There's a local area in Lake St. Louis called The Meadows that offers rides - turn it into a full date night and have dinner at BC's Kitchen!
2. Brewery Lights (or any lights display)
Free beer + a magical lights tour?! Give it a go! I went a couple years ago and would love to check it out again this year. There are so many fun displays - it's definitely on my holiday bucket list to see any local display. What's your favorite one?
3. Create a festive tablescape
Pick a theme and deck out that dining table! I am definitely inspired by this tablescape Christina created, and I'm wanting to buy this candleholder to re-create a similar look in my home!
4. Support a local business
It always feels good for me to shop small for the holidays - knowing that I'm helping a family provide for their own family. Many of my gifts this year are coming from local makers I know well or have been following - a lot are on my wish list too! Check out this post for some of my favorite small businesses.
5. STL locals - head to Shake Shack!
It opens on December 11th in St. Louis & I am eager to get there. Maybe couple a visit there with the Forest Park ice rink!
Are you excited for the holiday season? What's new (or a tradition) on your agenda?
