Summer Reading List - Re-Cap

Sep 21, 2015

Back in June I posted my Summer Reading List and I wanted to report back and let you know how I did and provide a bit of feedback.

Recently Read ::
Nantucket Sisters - Nancy Thayer (Check!)
{Feedback : Decent. I love books that take place in Nantucket, and that was really the only plus to this one.}
Would I recommend? Not really.

Currently Reading ::
We Were Liars - E. Lockhart (Check!)
{Feedback : Pretty good. The ending made it worth ther read.}
Would I recommend? Sure.

The Happiness Project - Gretchen Rubin
Still slowly working through this one. It's one I read here and there, and not all the way through at once.

The Matchmaker - Elin Hilderbrand (Check!)
{Feedback : It was slow and not very captivating. Kind of a downer actually.}
Would I recommend? Not really.

Let's All Be Brave - Annie Downs (Check!)
{Feedback : Mostly skimmed the entire book, this one did not intrigue me at all.}
Would I recommend? No!

Where'd You Go, Bernadette- Maria Semple (Check!)
{Feedback : This book was decent once I got into it pretty far. It had some decent twists and I liekd the ending, but it was a slow one for me. }
Would I recommend? Sure

To Read ::
Big Little Lies - Liane Moriarty (Check!)
{Feedback : I loved all the build up to trivia night and when that evening occurred, it did not disappoint. So many twists! Can't wait to read more books by this author.}
Would I recommend? Yes, yes, yes!

On the Rocks - Erin Duffy (Check!)
{Feedback : I loved the wit and humor of the main character, very relatable for me (aka, very sarcastic). I will definitely read more books by this author.}
Would I recommend? Yes!

The Glass Kitchen - Linda Francis Lee (Almost!)
{Feedback : Currently listening to on Audio. It's decent.}
Would I recommend? No

Oh! You Pretty Things - Shanna Mahin
(Borrowing from Emily soon)

Additional:
Eight Hundred Grapes - Laura Dave
{Feedback : Loved this one! The author was really witty and I liked the peek at life on a vineyard. Pretty decent amount of twists in this one, too.}
Would I recommend? Yes, yes, yes!
The Beach House - Jane Green
{Feedback : Currently listening to on Audio. It's decent.}
Would I recommend? No
Summer Rental - May Kay Andrews
{Feedback : I like this author, perfect light reads. This one will make you want to spend a Summer away with your besties.}
Would I recommend? Yes
Save the Date - Mary Kay Andrews
{Feedback : I always think being a florist would be neat, and the main character is a florist, so I loved this book.}
Would I recommend? Yes

Total = 11 + 1 almost completed
Stay tuned for my Fall Reading List. Here's another way to catch snippets of my recent reads.

  1. Whoa! That's a lot of books! I loved Big Little Lies, too. You should read The Husband's Secret...it was pretty good as well. Eight Hundred Grapes and Summer Rental are currently on my reading list.
