Weekly Bits -- 40 of 52

Happy October! This is my favorite month because it's my birthday month (!!) & I love Fall!
I spent half of this week in Portland and the other half back in St. Louis- Getting back to the grind after a trip is always bitter sweet. It's nice to be back to my people and home, but I miss days without an alarm clock and the beautiful scenery (above). A full re-cap on the trip to come.

A round-up of this week's favorite things >>

+ Long weekends -- Following up a (really) long weekend to Portland with a long weekend at work. I didn't realize our office was closing for Columbus Day, but we have a short day today and the office is closed Monday. Woot!

+ Fire-pit Weather -- I finally put mine to use right before my Portland trip. I have a Fall part tomorrow night with a fire-pit as a part of the mix as well. There is something so peaceful about sitting fireside on a brisk night.

+ Concerts -- My friend and I attended a Matt Wertz concert on a whim at the Doug Fir in Portland, today I am heading to James Bay at the Pageant, and next Friday I am going to the Luke Bryan Farm Tour Concert. Another "woot!" for this.

+ Fall Decor -- Now that I am back home I plan to clean my house this weekend and get Fall decor set out.  I don't have a ton of decor, but I'm eager to add some small doses around. This is my inspiration for my front porch.

+ Travel Reading -- Heart of the Matter - Emily Giffin; I packed this book and it was easy to get right into, I am almost finished and recommend reading it!

+ Savings Tips --  I recently read Pretty & Fun's savings tips, and while tip #5 - save small, save often seems like a no-brainer; it stuck with me. I have monthly & weekly transfers set up to my savings account, but the the concept of transferring over small amounts when you pass on shoes, receive a discount on a purchase, etc. is not something I do often. So, this week I negotiated down my internet bill and used this tip to transfer the annual savings from the discount over to my savings account.


Misc. bits >>
+ I have Hunter boots but sometimes want a less bulky rain option, now that these rain boot(ies) are on sale (under $20!) I am going to pull the trigger. Just unsure on the color. I have green Hunter boots, so I will likely go black or navy even though I love that green.
+ My holiday trip to Boston for work will be here before I know it. Bookmarking this list of the "most Instagramable spots" (ha!) in Boston.
+ I love these pumpkins for the Fall season
+ Concrete counters are something I'd love to have someday, if even in a basement wet bar area.
